Calling All Hairstylists

Actually we are only looking for 1 special person who would be willing to come for 2-3 weeks and teach Ruth how to cut mazungu (white people) hair. It is very difficult to get ahead in life in Mbarara. All the kitchen stores sell the same things. The same is true with the supermarkets (small grocery stores), stalls in the market, and hardware stores.

There are so few jobs for college graduates and/or trade school graduates. The job market is just saturated. So, one day as we were thinking of jobs for Ruth, Joel said it would be great if she could cut our hair. None of us get our hair cut here (unless another missionary does it). We have to drive 4 hours to Kampala in order to get a decent hair cut.

So...the job description would be: an experienced hair dresser who has time and the resources to come here for 2-3 weeks with a desire to train Ruth. This person could stay with us and we would provide food. If you know someone who would be interested (seriously), we would love to hear from them and share more details. Since we are coming home soon, we would want them to not come until after mid-October. It would be a huge blessing, so ask around!
