Catching Up

Well......I know some of you are thinking after 5 days and no post that we must have been eaten by lions!!!!! Let me assure you, we are simply busy...with school back in session (both homeschooling and the university), the ABIDE term back in full swing and a combination of harvest and planting (at the same time) in the Farming God's Way program.

We just started back with our business students at the univeristy this past Wed. It was so refreshing to be back on campus and see their smiling faces. I think we had 12-14 - several were new faces and several of our students from last term were not back yet. Pray for us - we are going to be discussing Christlike Character this semester. We will talk about holiness, integrity, obedience, relationships, purity and wherever else the conversation leads.

Also be praying for ABIDE - it stands for Amagara Bible Institute of Discipleship and Evangelism. A friend of ours here in Mbarara started it 2 years ago. This is the third group to come through. He asked me to help teach business skills to these young men. It has been such a pleasure to be able to share with them principles from the Bible that tie in with business. We will be starting businesses soon which will be exciting - can't wait to see how God uses this.

Farming God's Way is in full swing. We have polls for beans strewn across the yard. Maize is sitting on tarps and drying. Sacks of peeled kernels (9 huge bags so far!!!) are sitting on the porch. Three big piles of manure are laying in fields waiting to be spread. It is a busy time that could keep me running full time if I let it. We continue to look for new ways to reach those that work here and other communities with the gospel through this program.

The cows are still here and still milking. We have two new couples in from New Zealand who are trying to help the Ward's gather data from the villages where AIM has placed cows over the past 6 years. These are two of the men who started the Heifer Project here and/or have been very involved since the beginning. The Ward's will be back in late April or early May and hopefully this data will help us determine how to move forward in looking for new avenues of discipleship through this program.

Sorry....no pictures.....I'm sure Jill will post more soon. Just wanted to try and update you a little on life out here. We are trying to find a house - please pray for that. The Hollenbeck's return within 5-6 weeks and we will need a place to live. It is really starting to stress us when we think about it too much. Pray that the right door will open at just the right time!

Love ya'll and can not even begin to tell you how much your prayers have meant to us during our time here - especially over the last few months - keep praying!!!!
